She dreams, she hopes, she loves, she has faith. Like fireflies, it glows in her darkest days, the sweet taste of bittersweet memories. Sunshine and Raindrops, a sweet escape of a world only she knows.
She's strong, she's passionate, and she never gives up.
Most importantly, she's loved.

Part 17.

“Haya?” Haya’s mother began
“Na3am youma?” Haya looked up from her phone.
“Kalamtay Faisal elyoum?”
“Laa youma, 3ayazt adig 3alaih, mayrd 3alay.” Haya confessed
Her mother frowned, “et3arfeen Dalal?”
Haya nodded, “Eeh youma, laish??”
“Te9la7 7ag Faisal? Et’hagain betkoun el ensanah ely tas3ed Faisal?”
Haya slowly smiled, “Eeh youma 6ab3an!!!”
“Ohma men meta e3arfoun ba3ath?” her mother asked
“Mama taqreban be9eer lehum 3 years..”
Her mother was shocked, “thalath esneen w tawa egooli yabe ekha6ebha???”
“Youma 3ashan et3arfeen ena 9jj Faisal 3aref shno ga3d esawe.. Dalal mu ayi wa7da ta3arf 3alaiha w galech yabeeha..Youma law ohwa mu met2akid men qararah chan magalech w a9ar bel mawthoo3!!” Haya said convincingly.
Her mother breathed out, “ana kalamt oboich belmawthoo3, o gali ena ahal Dalal mara7 ya36ona.”
Haya shook her head, “Faisal met2akid emya belemya ena ahal Dalal bewafqoon.”
Her mother breathed out, “Khalas 3ayal amry lallah, golay 7ag o5ouch eny rethait.”
“Walllaa youma????” Haya beamed
“Eeh walla 7abebty, ams 6oul elail afker, welyoum kalamt khaltch Muneera, w eqna3atni belmawthoo3!” her mother smiled.
Haya jumped out of her seat and kissed her mother’s forehead, “Walla enich a7san om beldenya!!! Allah e6aweli eb3omerch”
Her mother smiled, “ameen 7abebty, w allah ya7fethch ley w ye5aleech!”

Haya texted Faisal,
“Mom said yes! Please come back where ever you are!”

Faisal didn’t reply back. He was sitting on the patio, smoking out of anger and frustration. He didn’t know how to handle Dalal. He was happy his mother finally agreed, but he was sensing that Dalal doesn’t want him anymore.
He closed his eyes and cleared his thoughts. It was close to 7 pm and he was sure Dalal was sleeping.
He went up to his room, took a warm shower to get rid of the smell of smoke, drenched himself with cologne and tiptoed slowly into Haya’s room.
He found Dalal curled up in bed, fast asleep. He sat on the floor and leaned in beside Dalal.
“Walla a7bich, and I’m really sorry.” Faisal whispered softly.
Dalal was fast asleep. Faisal moved even closer to Dalal and reached out for her hands. He could feel her breathing close to his face.
He missed being close to her. He missed holding her in his arms; he missed her soft skin on his face. He missed her scent, and her soft neck.
“Dalal?” Faisal whispered again, this time squeezing her hand.
Dalal opened her eyes slightly and saw Faisal close to her. She wanted to push him away, but every cell in her body was giving in to him.
“Faisal don’t leave me please,” Dalal whispered faintly.
Faisal got in bed next to Dalal and held her really tight, “I’m not going to leave you I promise. Daloola 7abebty everything is going to be okay, I’m going to fix everything. I love you.” Faisal whispered.
Dalal turned around and stuffed her face into Faisal’s chest. She was angry with him, yet she wanted him to hold her.
“7abebty latabcheen,” Faisal stroked Dalal’s hair, “Please ga3da etga63en galbi.”

Dalal took in Faisal’s scent and breathed out. She missed being so close to him. She missed being held in his big strong arms, she missed how weak her body gets when she’s close to Faisal.
“I missed this,” Dalal whispered.
Faisal put his hand on Dalal’s chin and lift her face up, “I missed everything about us Daloola..”
Dalal’s heart was beating so fast even Faisal could feel it. She leaned in a bit closer, close enough to feel Faisal breath out on her lips.
Faisal traced Dalal’s lips with his fingertips as Dalal closed her eyes and played with his shirt.
Faisal was fighting every urge in his body to keep his lips away from Dalal’s, but he can’t.
“You make it so hard to resist you,” Faisal whispered in a tortured way.
Dalal moved closer to Faisal, “I told you once, and I’ll tell you now, nothing before we get married.”
“Please, bas marra..” Faisal begged as he wrapped his arms around Dalal’s tiny waist.
“No,” Dalal said and she turned her face the other way around.
Faisal kissed Dalal’s cheeks and moved to her neck and kissed it softly. “Why are you resisting me?” Faisal asked in a mischievous manner.
Dalal’s entire body was screaming out for Faisal to do more, but Dalal tried her best to control herself.
The only thing Dalal could say was “Faisal..” as she closed her eyes and let Faisal kiss her neck.

A while later, Faisal was laying close to Dalal and holding her tight. “adree ench lama al7een shayla ebgalbch 3alay..”
Dalal shook her head, “la Faisal I’m not, bas sometimes you make me feel angry and when I do, all this pain comes again w alga nafsi agoul ashya2, I don’t really mean.” Dalal confessed
“So you’re really not over me?” Faisal asked.
“I was never over you,” Dalal said as her phone vibrated.

It was Rawan.
“Heey babe, I hope everything’s fine, meta betrdeen wherever you are?

Dalal replied back,
“e7na belshalaih ;p I don’t know. I might be back in an hour, laish?”

Rawan,
“Just wondering, yala lat6awleen pls..”

Dalal replied back,
“feech shay?”

Rawan,
“Its just Bader, mu shay tharoori, don’t worry.”

Dalal sat up, “Faisal, yalla I have to go back.”
Faisal frowned, “afa laish youba?”
“Bas Faisal wayed 6awalt 3ala Rawan, w I think something’s wrong fa baroo7laha.”
“Just stay with me for a little while,” Faisal said as he stuffed his face back into Dalal’s neck and kissed it softly.
Dalal lost control of herself for a few seconds then pushed Faisal aside, “no Faisal khalas I really have to go, please?”
“Khalas 7abebty okay, I’ll just go grab my jacket wentay get ready.” Faisal said as he left the room.
Dalal washed her face and put her blazer back on and went downstairs. They both got in the car and Faisal headed back home.

“Faisal remember the guy ely kan ma3ana eb prime?” Dalal said
Faisal nodded, “eshfeeh?”
“Wayed ga3ed e2athy Rawan, please 3ade you deal with him?” Dalal said
“Ana shako?” Faisal asked
“Please kalem your cousin ely beldakheleya, maygdar esawe shay? Please Faisal walla wayed ga3ed e2atheeha..” Dalal gave Faisal her pleading puppy eyes.
Faisal nodded, “Khalas 7abebty walla ehmich, bas 3a6eeni his full name w number w consider it done.”
“Thank you 7abeby you’re the best!!” Dalal said without realizing what she just called Faisal.
“Shno samayteni??” Faisal asked astonished.
Dalal bit her lower lip, “7abeby?”
Faisal beamed like an idiot, “ana?”
Dalal nodded and laughed, “eeh ako ghairik??”
Faisal bugged his eyes, “Laa 6ab3an!!”

Part 16.

Faisal went to Starbucks Nuzha drive thru and got drinks for the both of them and drove off. Dalal was silently sipping on her white mocha while thinking of places that Faisal might be taking her to.

“Daloola eshfeech sakta?” Faisal asked.
Dalal shook her head, “mafeeni shay Faisal bas I’m just trying to think of places you might take me to. Wel9ara7a, there’s only one place in mind, la2na men shft your car I remembered ayam awal lama kena enrou7.. Bas madri mathen you’ll take me there, right?” Dalal asked hoping Faisal would say the opposite.
Faisal smiled, “I love how you’re so smart Daloola..”
Dalal smiled back shyly, “So we are going there aren’t we?”
Faisal nodded, “there’s not another place that I can be with you w a5th ra7ty feeh, ghair ehnak..”
Dalal’s face turned bright red and she started playing with her coffee cup to avoid looking at Faisal.
“You do want to go there, 9a7?” Faisal asked.
Dalal nodded slowly, “bas Faisal, magdar a6awel okay?”
Faisal nodded, “enshalla.”

40 minutes later, Faisal parked in front of their shalaih.
Dalal got down and stared at the shalaih. The last time she was here was about a year and a half ago. The last time she was here, it was heaven for her.
The last time she was here, Faisal made her feel like they were the only two people in the world that existed.
Dalal breathed out as goose bumps quickly spread across her body. She was excited, yet nervous.
Faisal took Dalal’s hand and walked inside.

“Shofay, America 3alematni shay wayed ra7 ya3jebich.” Faisal said with a proud smile.
“shno ohwa?” Dalal asked while looking around the living room. It didn’t change much, it still looks exactly the same, but there are a couple new frames with family pictures in them.
Faisal pointed out to the patio where a table was set up. “Gemt a3arf shloun a6ba5!”
Dalal burst out laughing, “enta??? La la ma9adig!”
Faisal smiled sheepishly, “Walla el3atheem, w gemt elyoum el9b7 w sawait lech akl w 7a6aita bel fern 3ala ma you get here.”
Dalal gave Faisal a look, “met2akid ent 6abikh?? Wela nafs awal etgoum men elnoum gabli wetro7 McDonalds wetyeeb akl men ehnaak?”
“Laa walla el3atheem, I made this all for you..” Faisal smiled as he opened the door for Dalal and they both walked out on the patio.

They sat and had breakfast and Dalal was very impressed with how well Faisal’s cooking skills were improved. After breakfast, they sat on the couch facing the sea. No one was around; no one was on the beach. It was a weekday, so they had complete and utter privacy.
Faisal cleared his throat and slowly moved closer to Dalal.
“Et9adgeen, a7s we never broke up.” He said.
“Shloun ya3ne?” Dalal’s heart raced as Faisal put his arm around her.
“Ya3ne, it doesn’t feel awkward being with you. It doesn’t feel awkward talking to you. A7s the year that we spent apart, is nothing. Jad Dalal, a7s we still have that spark.” Faisal looked at Dalal eagerly waiting for her to say the same back.
Dalal breathed out, “Faisal, the year we spent apart, tara it really destroyed me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to have you back, but Faisal I’ve built so many walls since the day you left, its gonna take a whole lot to get me back.”
Faisal tried to hide the look of disappointment from his face; he held Dalal’s hand firmly and looked into her eyes, “Dalal, adre ena ana elghal6an eny 7adaitech. I know I hurt you so bad and you might not trust me, bas wala ya Dalal, I’m going to gain your love back. I’m going to gain your trust again, even if it takes me forever. Daloola, ana a7bich w mabe ghairech w kent jedan ghaby youm eny taraktech.”
Dalal nodded, what Faisal said was a bit reassuring, but she needed more than words.

“Hayoo goleely whats wrong??” Mariam asked Haya as they walked out of their physics class.
Haya looked at Mariam with a worried look on her face, “Maryoom omy mu rathya! W now Faisal madri wayna! Ams 6ala3 men elbait w kan em3a9eb w still marad men ams! Dagait 3alaih w marad 3alay!”
“Waait wait!” Maraim was shocked. “Omech mu rathya 3ala shno??”
“Omy mu rathya takh6eb Dalool 7ag Faisal!! Etgoul its too fast w madri shno! Fa Faisal 3a9ab w 6ala3, bas akher shay omy galat betfaker, w ana madri shaswe!” Haya said frantically.
“Babe awal shay calm down! I’m sure Faisal is fine, la2na law 9ayer baynhum shay chan Dalool told me about it. Bas 3ad salfat omech madri, ya3ne shway 9a3ba..” Mariam said
Haya nodded, “adrii! Welmushkela Faisal besafer in two weeks, so etha be9eer shay rasme, it has to happen now!!”
“Enzain entay kalmtay omech men ams? Wela lama al7een?” Mariam asked
“Laa kanat nayma lama I woke up, w I checked whatsapp 7a6een last seen at 10:00 am, w now its 1:30 w lama al7een magaltli shay!” Haya said
“Enzain shofay, lets not worry about this. I’m sure omech betghayer rayha lama etshoof ena Faisal za3lan w mayabi erd elbait.. shofay, go home 7achay omech w ba3dain e9eer khair okay?”
Haya nodded, “yalla I’ll see you after school!” she picked up her binder and left for last class, while Mariam went to the girl’s bathroom and called Dalal.

Dalal was snuggled up on the big couch and was watching TV when her phone rang. Faisal grabbed Dalal’s phone and saw that Mariam was calling.
“Mariam ga3da etdig 3alaich Dalal” Faisal said as he passed her phone to Dalal.
“Ghareeba she’s supposed to be in school?” Dalal looked at Faisal, “You think Haya feeha shay??”
“Madrii 7abebty reday 3alaiha!”
Dalal nodded, “Halla maryooma?”
“Dalli bser3a, how are you?” Mariam asked in a whispering voice
“I’m good, feech shay? Why are you whispering?”
“Laa mafeni shay, hmm bas kent bashoof how are you!”
“Haya galtlech 9a7?” Dalal asked
“Eeeh w I was just checking up on you to see if you were fine.. ya3ne entay w Faisal.”
“Eeh babe, don’t worry we are.”
“Okaay good, khalas ba6amin hayo! Yalla I gotta go, love you bye!” Mariam hung up and quickly made her way to class.

“Feeha shay?” Faisal asked
Dalal shook her head, “bas Haya’s worried about you. Madagat 3alaik?”
Faisal chuckled, “emballa like 10 missed calls w 3 messages, bas ana maradait 3alaiha.”
“7aram 3alaik laish??” Dalal asked
“3ashan I show them how serious I am about us, I’m not gonna talk to them lama I know for sure omy rethat.”
“Enzain Faisal?”
“3yoon Faisal entay?” he said while moving closer to Dalal.
“Faisal, you’re going back to America in two weeks.. what will happen with us?” Dalal asked.
“Nothing will happen? Baroo7 akhlis my spring semester, ard elkwait, we get married, then you come back with me to America.” Faisal smiled.
“But what if I don’t want to go with you to America? What if I want to stay belkwait, with my friends and family?”
“Aha so your friends and family aham meni?” Faisal said coldly.
“La Faisal that’s not what I meant, aqi9d I just can’t leave my life completely and adapt to a new life this fast.”
“3ayal shno tabeen??” Faisal’s voice was slowly getting louder.
“Faisal eshfeek lat9ari5!” Dalal exclaimed
“Entay betyanineeny! Al7een tawa etgoolen you need to see more action from me to believe ena I’m not gonna leave you, w agoolich I’m gonna marry you w bakhthech ma3ay wet6angreen??” Faisal’s tone was rude and sarcastic.
Dalal had a straight face; this was a side of Faisal she hated the most. The side with the anger issues.
“Faisal please mala da3ay hal a39ab, and what I said was logical. Ana mu ga3da agool I don’t wana marry you, ga3da agoolik ena you can’t expect me to change my entire life for you.” Dalal said plainly.
“W laish la?? Ana mu 7esbat raylech??”
“Tabe et3arf laish la?? La2na lama etna qarart betrou7 wetsafer bara, you never included me in the picture! You made your own life decisions bedoun 7ata lat7e6li e3tebar wala takhth rayey! Then you come to me and tell me you want to break up with me la2na you can’t be in a long distance relationship! You do all of this and expect me to be fine with it! Well guess what Faisal, I was never fine with it! And it all still hurts, and I don’t think you can do anything to take that pain away!!” Silent tears rolled down Dalal’s cheeks. She got up and made her way out of the living room and went upstairs. She knew the shalaih like the back of her hands. She decided not to go to Faisal’s room, and she went directly to Haya’s room.
Dalal took of her blazer and laid on Haya’s bed crying silently from all the pain.

Faisal breathed out angrily. This was going to be harder than he thought. He never knew how deeply he hurt Dalal; he never knew that until now.
He went up to look for Dalal, he found Haya’s room door slightly open. He knocked on the door and whispered, “Dalal?”

Dalal sat up, “Please leave me alone,” she said in a chocked voice.
“Dalal please sam7eeni,” Faisal begged.
“Faisal geltlik, khalni broo7ii,” Dalal said as she cried silently.
“I’m not gonna leave you,” Faisal whispered and stood behind the door.
Dalal got up and closed the door shut, “Faisal, please rou7 I don’t want you around! Rou7 and just leave me alone, ent a9lan laish yeet?? Why are you back in my life?? I was getting over you!” she said and she knew she was lying. She was never over him. She was just so angry and confused.
Her heart is telling her to trust him again, but her mind is telling her to let go..

Part 15.

It was close to 10:30 when Dalal’s mother called her, “entay betnameen 3nd Rawan wela betrdeen elbait?”
“La youma kanii al7een bamshi,” Dalal chuckled.
“Eeh yala 7abebty reday oboich yes2al 3anich.” Dalal’s mother said
“Enshalla youma shway w akoun 3ndkom.” Dalal replied
“Eeh 3ad mu etrou7en meni wela menak..” Dalal’s mother said with a sarcastic tone.
“Lat5afeen mama, makalamt Faisal elyoum.” Dalal replied coldly.
“Eeh ashwa khaleech chthy, latdgeen 3alaih wala etkalmena lain ohma edgoun 3alay oo e9eer shay rasme”
“7ather youma.” Dalal ended the call and looked at Rawan with a worried look.

“Whats wrong babe?” Rawan asked
“Madrii ya3ne ga3da a7ate shway.” Dalal replied as she got up and picked up her bag.
“Shet7ateen?”
“Rawoon, Faisal makalmnii men we9alna baitkom, I’m worried about him.” Dalal replied
“Enzain degay kalmeeh? Aw dezeela message?” Rawan suggested
“Laa I don’t wanna be so needy. W ham I feel worried madri laish!” Dalal said
“Enzain shofay get home w shofay ahalech and by the time you get in bed etha he still didn’t call you, call him okay?”
Dalal nodded and turned around and looked into Rawan’s closet. She picked out a white blazer and turned around, “ba5eth hatha balbsa bacher okay?”
Rawan nodded, “sure 7abebty e5theeh, bas 3ad mu ethee3 eb baitkum nafs kelmara” she smiled sarcastically.
“Waay Rawan tara walla all your stuff eb kabati lazem you come and pick them out! Nsait shno malech w shno mali”
Rawan laughed, “3adi yuba whats mine is yours and vice versa!”
Dalal nodded, “expect for faisal.. he’s mine only.”
“Waaaaay 3eshtaw!!!” Rawan laughed, “You still love him so much don’t you?”
“I love him more than before Rawan..” Dalal blushed.
“Yuba Allah e5aleekom 7ag ba3ath! You’re cute together!”
“Thank you 7abebty,” Dalal hugged Rawan, grabbed her things, said goodbye and left.

Dalal got home, spent a little time with her parents, took a shower and still she got no call or message from Faisal. She couldn’t take it anymore so she decided to call him.
He didn’t pick up the first time she called. So she waited for him to call her back, yet he still didn’t call.

She texted Rawan,
“Ray , I called Faisal once and he didn’t pick up, adgla again wela its too much?”

Rawan replied back,
“Call him again babe, wela mara7 etnameen a3rfech. And don’t be late bacher, we have a quiz the first 15 minutes of class!”

Dalal replied,
“I hope darastay, cuz banqil mench;* love you, goodnight!”

Dalal called Faisal again and this time, Faisal picked up.
“Aloo?”
“Hi Faisal, eshlounck?”
“Al7een a7san dam eny sem3at 9otech,”
Dalal blushed, “shaklek kent nayem?”
“Eeh walla, tawni ga3ed. Laish feech shay?”
“Laa walla bas ya3ne, hmm kent a7ateek.” Dalal whispered.
Faisal smiled and rubbed his sleepy eyes, Dalal was starting to let her guard down and express her feelings again. That was a good sign. “Et7ateni ana? Ya bakhty.”
Dalal laid back in bed and whispered softly, “akeed shloun ma7atek? I was really worried ena 9ar feek shay.”
“Lat7ateen 7abebty, I’m fine.” Faisal sighed
Dalal wasn’t convinced enough, “Faisal are you sure? Please etha feek shay please goule. Latkhaleni a7aty.”
“Bas met’thayig shway.” Faisal said, “Bas walla lat7ateen, I’ll be fine.”
“Faisal, tell me what’s wrong?” Dalal whispered in the most calming voice ever.
Faisal was dazed by Dalal’s voice that he said, “things aren’t going that well with omy..”
Dalal’s heart sank; she knew that something was wrong. “I thought you said Haya was going to take care of that?”
“Daloola I really don’t know what to tell you,”
“Faisal please tell me the truth,” tears were slowly drowning Dalal’s eyes. She was afraid to hear what Faisal was about to say next.
“Omy mu meqtan3a,” Faisal sighed
Dalal remained silent, “Daloola, do you trust me?”
Dalal replied with an mm.
“Then don’t worry, I promise you I won’t let go. I promise we’ll be together, I promise.”
Dalal stayed quiet for a while, “Please this time keep your promise?”
“I won’t disappoint you, Daloola.”
Dalal nodded, “Khalas 3ayal, akhaleek terta7.”
“No stay for awhile?” Faisal begged
Dalal smiled, “Faisal I can’t I have class bacher, enta wayink a9lan?”
“Mu tharoori et3arfeen wayni, bas goleeli, meta your classes bacher?”
“I have one at 8 oo one at 10, laish?”
“Can I see you bacher?” Faisal asked
“Madri Faisal, shway 9a3ba?”
“Please 7awlay?”
“Khalas okay I’ll let Rawan pick me up and then you pick me up men bait’ha?”
“Perfect, ga3deeni before your 10 am class okay?”
“Enshalla,” Dalal smiled excidtedly. “Yalla tamreni 3ala shay?”
“Salamtech 7abebty, please nafs mageltlch, don’t worry. I’m gonna marry you, qa9bin 3ala ely yertha wely mayertha.” Faisal said confidently.
“Enshalla, yalla goodnight Faisal..” Dalal whispered
“Goodnight ya 3yoon Faisal.”
And with that Dalal fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Dalal woke up super hyper and excited because she was going to spend a few hours with Faisal. She told her mom that she was going to spend the night at Rawan’s house and her mother said it was okay. She didn’t pack anything with her, because she’d eventually just grab anything from Rawan’s closet and wear it. She called Faisal at 10 to wake him up, but she found him already up, he told her he’d pick her up at 11:30 and she said she’d be ready.
On their way back from university, Rawan looked at Dalal, “Dalool al7een wayen betro7en weya Faisal?”
“Walla Rawoon I have no idea, but I’m just looking forward to spending time with him.”
“Enzain how do you feel about what he told you ams?” Rawan asked.
“I’m trying to be positive, he said ena I shoudn’t worry and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’m not gonna worry.”
“Enzain did you talk to him about Bader?” Rawan asked
“Laa walla, I’ll tell him when I see him. Did you get any calls from Bader?” Dalal asked
“La thank god!” Rawan said

Rawan parked her car and looked at Dalal, “meta betrdeen?”
“Madree Rawan laish?”
“Bas ana martha tet2akherain! Gelna I’m open minded bas may9eer et6awlen wayed ma3aah before the wedding!”
Dalal laughed, “ya3ne betsaweenli 7arakat big brother?”
Rawan chuckled, “laa walla bas akhaf 3alaich, so don’t be too late, w lama tyeyn come from the back door ana bagool 7ag Christina to keep it open for you.”
Dalal nodded, “you’re the best walla”
Rawan smiled, “I know” and she rolled her eyes and got out of the car.

20 minutes later, Faisal called Dalal and told her he was out waiting for her. Dalal checked herself and outfit before leaving. She was wearing Rawan’s white blazer, a baby pink wool blouse underneath and grey washed out skinny’s.
“I look fine 9a7?” Dalal quickly asked Rawan
“Eeh babe you look great, bas yala ru7eela before anyone see’s him waiting outside.”
Dalal smiled and ran out to Faisal’s car. She was surprised that he wasn’t driving his jaguar, but he was in his black tinted Land Cruiser.

“Ya halla walla,” Faisal smiled to Dalal as she got in and he drove off.
“Halla feek, where’s your other car?” Dalal asked
“Belbait, ams 6al3t eb hathy.. Laish feeha shay?” Faisal looked confused.
Dalal shook her head, “Bel3aks, I like this car more.”
Faisal smiled, “I know you do 7abebty,” He reached out for Dalal’s hand and kissed her cold fingers.
“You look lovely,” Faisal said with a dazed look.
Dalal blushed, “Thank you Faisal.”
“Tabeen we get coffee before we go? Shaklech bardana..” Faisal said
“Eeh please 7adii bardana, bas tell me wayn benroo7?” Dalal asked eagerly.
Faisal smiled mischievously, “that my love is a surprise..”

Part 14.

No one was at home when the girls got to Rawan’s house. Her father was at work, her mother was out and her siblings were out as well. The only people that were home were the house staff and her one and a half year old nephew, Soud.
“Nani!” shrieked Soud when he saw Rawan enter the house.
Rawan’s sad and embarrassed face immediately turned into a happy smile.
“Sa3oodi 7abeby ta3al” Rawan kneeled down and opened her arms wide. Soud ran into Rawan’s arms and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. He smiled to Dalal and hugged her as well and ran back to his nanny.
“Christina where’s mama?” Rawan asked Soud’s nanny.
“She gone out,” Christina nodded, “Sir also gone out, and Baba Nasser make telephone asking about you.”
Baba Nasser was Rawan’s brother, Soud’s father.
“Did he say what he wanted?” Rawan asked
Christina shook her head, “Only asking if you are home with sa’oodi.”
Rawan nodded and motioned to Dalal to follow her.

They went up to Rawan’s room, and Dalal sat on the couch. She was quietly waiting for Rawan to breakdown and vent about this morning incident.
“So?” Dalal whispered.
Rawan breathed out and knew that Dalal wanted to talk about Bader, so she quickly put a smile on her face and said “so goleeli how you and Faisal happened again?”
Dalal frowned, she could see the pain in her friend’s eyes. Rawan was trying to be strong and show Dalal that she’s okay, but Dalal could see right through that fake sad smile.
“Rawan, latghayreen elmawthoo3.. 7acheeni? Let it out now a7san men ba3dain.”
Rawan looked away, “Dalool magdar..”
Dalal squeezed Rawan’s hand, “I’m here for you,”
“9arla exactly sbou3 edig 3alay, esbou3 e7n egouli ardla, bas ana mabeeh.. mabe ardla, oo when I finally got over him, he comes back into my life? He comes back and he makes me feel so worthless.” Rawan’s voice was chocked by her tears. Dalal moved closer to Rawan and hugged her tight.
“You’re not worthless. Rawan you’re amazing, w ohwa 7maar! He lost you, never look at it any other way!”
Rawan buried her face in Dalal’s shoulders and started weeping, “Dalal manii 3arfa shloun atkhalas mena!! He’s crazy, 3adi I leave the house w alga 9afe6 jedam baitna!! Sheftay shno gal elyoum? He said no one would ever want me.”
“Rawooon!!! Don’t let it get to your head!! Rawan you’re an amazing and wonderful person and you were more than great to him and you forgave him!! Ohwa shno sawalech? He broke your heart twice, Rawan twice!! While there were so many guys who wanted you, you fell for the bad one, and that happens babe you can’t control it. Bas al7een khala9, awalan you shouldn’t care what Bader thinks or says, you’re a better person now, without him. 9adgeeni if you give other guys a chance, 9adgeeni you’ll see how they’re different than Bader.”

Rawan shook her head and breathed out, “Laa Dalal, I told you I don’t want to be with anyone at the moment. A7taj waket 7agi broo7i. I need to look after myself, I need to love myself, 3ashan I don’t hurt myself again.”
Dalal nodded, she understood Rawan’s point, “shofay, don’t worry about Bader, ana baklem Faisal and I’ll tell him to deal with Bader. Oo ba3dain lazem etghayreen your number, 3ashan Bader maydig 3alaich!”
Rawan nodded and wiped her tears, “Dalool you’re the best wallah! And I’m sorry I snapped at you gabel shway.. Wallah I’m really happy for you and you deserve the best! Jad atmana ena kelshay tabeena et7a9leena la2na you’ve been through so much and you deserve to be happy.”
Dalal smiled so happily, “I love you Rawan!!”
“I love you too, now tell me everything!!” Rawan’s eyes lit up.

Dalal told Rawan about every little detail that happened with Faisal, and they would both giggle and talk about wedding details not knowing that Faisal was going through a bit of a pickle with his mother.

“Faisal 7abeby, elbent ely tabeeha mat9la7lek, walla ahla ebyerthoun! Fa laish tabe ta7rejni ma3a elawadem?” Faisal’s mother said boldly.
Faisal looked at his sister in desperation, “Mama Faisal e7bha!” Haya protested.
His mother wasn’t convinced at all. “Ba3dain enta shloun tabeeni akh6eblik elbent bedoun la as2al 3anha, w bedoun la aklm khalatek w afker bel mawthoo3? Latgooli ashoof shno Khaled sawa! Khaled 7a6na kelna jedam el amer elwaqi3, w el7emdalla kel 2omoora meshat! Ama enta 7abeby mara7 akhaleek etsawe ghal6at Khaled o5ouk!”
“Youma ana hathy elbent ely abeeha!” Faisal demanded.
His mother shook her head, “7abeby tawek e9gheer 3alzawaj.. takharaj awal ba3dain ana akh6eblik elbent ely te9la7lek w te9la7lena!”
Faisal was furious with his mother, “Entay mu rathya tefhmeen ena mabe atzawaj ghair Dalal???? Youma abeehaa w mabe ghairha! W ahalha ratheen!!”
“Mama walla Dalal khoush wa7da!! Youma eshfeech entay mara shefteeha ma3a Mariam refeejtii belshalaih? Mama khalas Faisal w Dalal e7boon ba3ath latogfeen eb wayhum!” Haya said.
Faisal’s mother looked at him sternly, “ana mu rathya. W mani merta7a eny adig w akhe6blik elbent eb hal sur3a! Ent betrd America ba3d esbou3ain, w ebtensaha.”
“Ghair Dalal mani metzawej.” And with those words Faisal left the house filled with anger.
He drove around the block for a while but couldn’t go back home. So he decided to go to the Shalaih, a quite place where he can figure out a way to convince his mother.
But the problem was, he couldn’t tell Dalal that his mother disapproves.

Haya looked at her mother, she hated how stubborn she can be. She hated how she made Faisal feel.
“3ajbech ely 9ar?” Haya said. “Al7een mara7 erd elbait law shno!”
Her mother looked scornfully at her, “Ya bent e7tarmay nafesch w 3adlay esloubch! Hatha esloub hatha?? Qelat adab!”
Haya got up, “Youma laish matabeen Faisal yestanis?? Ana ams kalamtech w geltlch shno yabe! Laish matsaween ely yabeeh w khalas??? Tabeena erd America w ohwa za3lan?? 3ad shofay ba3dain meta berd!!!! Tara walla youma kether ma et7awleen etmasheen Faisal 3ala mazajech, kether ma ohwa bekhish walla el3atheem!!” Haya teared up and looked at her mother, “mama adre kalamy kbeer, w mu mafrooth a7achi omy eb hal 6areeqa, bas youma e7na ga3deen ensoof shay entay matshofeena! Walla kelna nadree ena hal 7akra elzayda la2nch et7beena wetkhafeen 3alayna, bas youma lazem etkhafefeenha shway..”
Haya sat next to her mother and kissed her forehead, “asfa w 7agech 3alay mama..”
Her mother had a disappointed look, “7abebty walla mani 3arfa shloun at9araf ma3akum.. ma3edtaw methl awal 9ghaar w 7awalay ana oo obouch.. kebartaw w kelwa7id menkum yabe e3eeesh 7ayata 3ala kaifa w bas khofi enkum telhoun 3anii. “Laa laa youma latgooleen chthy!! Ana mara7 akhalech law shno! A9lan shar6 eny kelyoum ayey atghada ma3ach!” Haya cheered her mother up.
“Entay omna elghalya w e7na enmout feech w layomken enkhalech!” Haya said
“Ya ba3ad galbe ya hayaa, allah e7afethch w yarzigch ebkel khair.”
Haya smiled, “Ameen! Al7een goleeli, betkha6been Dalal 7ag Faisal??”
“Bafker belmawthoo3,” Her mother said.

I hope.

I hope you know that I will never let you go.
I hope you know that no matter how you make me feel, I will always love you.
Its true, you hurt me in ways I could have never imagined, but it doesn't mean a thing to me.
I hope you know that I will never give up on this, no matter how hard it gets.
I hope you know that you bring out the best in me.
I hope you know that you make me smile honestly.
I hope you know, that you mean the world and more to me.
I hope you know that no one gets you like I do.
I hope you know that the more you push me away, the more closer I am to you.
I hope you know that I will always be there for you.
I will hold your hand, share your silence, and give you all the strength you need.
I hope you know that you can count on me to wipe away your tears, to make you chase away your fears.
I will always be near, distance you'll never have to fear.
I hope you know, that what you put me through made me a lot stronger than I ever was.
I hope you know that I never hated you, not for a second will I ever.
I know my tears will turn into smiles.
I know the pain will turn into happiness.
I know all the time that was wasted apart, will be time spent together soon.
I know in time, it will all get better.
I know deep down you are still the same, and that you never changed.
I know that I love you.
I know that you love me.

I just hope you know that too.
