“Weeh maboga shay!” Farah exclaimed
“Yeah..” Dalal frowned and looked away.
Rawan sighed, “Al7een hatha su2al allah ehadach Far7oo!”
“Madree nsaait walla” Farah pouted. “Dalool lat7ateen
enshalla elwakt bemur ebser3a w telgaina radlech belsalamah..”
Dalal nodded, she didn’t want to start explaining how she
felt. She couldn’t find the right words to express how much she’s going to miss
Faisal. She wasn’t worried about him leaving, because their relationship is
secured. She didn’t know how to explain it. It’s like a huge piece of her is
leaving, a part she couldn’t stand being away from. She just smiled to her
friends and decided to distract herself and think happy thoughts instead.
The girls had a pleasant breakfast and afterwards they got
coffee and went straight to Dalal’s house because they had major fashion work
to do. Dalal kept checking her phone to see if Faisal was up, but he was still
asleep.
“Ray?” Dalal began
“Amray?” Rawan said as she matched heels with dresses
“Ohwa magali ag3da.. bas gali ena ghadahum elsa3a 2:30.. oo
al7een elsa3a 1:45.. adig ag3da et’hagain?”
Farah laughed, “Ana agooul 5aleeh nayem 3ashan e6oufa
elghada oo Muneera matshoofa!!”
“That’s genius Faroo7, bas la magdar aswe chthy! So Ray?”
“Entay tabeen etga3deena 3ashan elghada? Wela bas 3ashan
tabeen tesm3een 9oota la2nch walhtay 3alaih?” Rawan said with an understandable
look.
Dalal blushed, “Ha-a?? Laa laa uu-hh…”
“Daloool haaiw men etg9een 3alaih entay? Lat7awleen
etrag3een chakeench e7na!” Farah said sarcastically.
“Eeh wallaa! Tabe etsawe nafs’ha baree2a oo ya3ne wayed
mehtama etga3da 7ag elghada! W ehya bas tabe tesma3 9oota!” Rawan laughed and
did the malat 3alaich hand gesture.
“Elsharha mu 3alaikum! 3al ya36eekum wayh w yes2alkum!”
Dalal said with a sneering look.
“Za3altaaay?” Rawan said mockingly
“Maleeeqa!” Dalal pouted
“7ubby ana agoul degay 3al 7abeeb khal eratheech, yalla
ebser3a w reday warana malyoun dress talbsenhum!” Rawan said as she went back
into Dalal’s dressing room.
Dalal smiled, grabbed her phone and locked herself in her
bathroom.
After two failed attempts, Faisal picked up.
“Faisal 7abeby tara elsa3a thentain ela rubi3, yalla goum
lata2akhar..” Dalal said
“Mmm ya-allah kanii g-emt..” Faisal replied back half
asleep.
“Sheba3t noum?” Dalal asked
Faisal yawned, “Eeh el7emdalla.. Entay waynch?”
“Ana belbait 7abeby? We went out for breakfast and now we’re
back home.”
“Who’s we?” Faisal asked
Dalal chuckhled, “Farah oo Rawan”
“Ahaa, oo 3asa ma yakum Bader ba3ad?” Faisal asked
“Laa laa! A9lan 9arla muda saket oo makalam Rawan..” Dalal
said
“Eeh 3abali ba3ad, La 7abebty mara7 yetjara2 edig 3ala Rawan
3ugb ely sawaynah feeh..”
“What did you do?” Dalal asked bewildered.
“Let’s just put it this way, you ask me to take care of
something, and I do without leaving a mess behind..” Faisal replied in a cocky
way.
Dalal smiled, “You’re my hero Faisal..”
“And you will always be my princess Dalal..” Faisal replied
back
Dalal blushed and let out a faint shy laugh, “have fun today
okay?”
“aakhh bas yazeen elthegel.. Youba e3tarfay?” Faisal teased
Dalal bit her lip, “a3terf ebshno??”
“That I got to you and made you smile..” Faisal said
confidently
“U-hhmm Faisal khala9 I have to go..” Dalal with a shy tone.
“Yaa 7lew el metwahgeen walla! Dalali?” Faisal said with a
sexy tone.
Dalal gulped, “3yoonha?”
“A7bich!!” Faisal smiled
“Wana akthaar walla!” Dalal replied back
“Yala 7ayati tamreeni 3ala shay?” Faisal asked
“Laa just take care and have fun..” Dalal said
“and?” Faisal said
“And shno?” Dalal asked casually
“Daloola I know you, adre ench ga3da et7ateen hal ghada..
Adre mu 3ajbech arou7 la2na Muneera mawjooda..”
Dalal was surprised. She didn’t think Faisal would realize
that she’s worried.
“Faisal its not what you think.. wala I’m not jealous of her
walla el3atheem Faisal.” Dalal said
“Baby calm down.. Ana magelt ench etghareen wala shay.. I
know you’re worried, w bas 7abait a6amnch ena you have nothing to be worried
about. Bacher enshalla kelshay be9eer rasmi, and no one is going to bother us
anymore.”
Dalal smiled and breathed out, “Okay 7abeby..”
“Erti7tay?” Faisal asked
Dalal nodded, “Wayed..”
“3asach doum merta7a 7abebty, yalla I have to go now.. yalla
yamdeni asba7 w a6la3.” And Faisal ended the call.
Dalal went back to her friends and they got lost in a pile
of shoes and dresses. Faisal took a quick shower, got into his deshdasha and
put on his favorite cologne; a mixture of b5our and Creed. Within a few minutes he was
at his grandfather’s house, where everyone was gathered and were setting up the
table.
Everyone was happy to see him. He got hugs and kisses from
his aunts and uncles. He small talked with his cousins whom he hasn’t seen in a
long while. Everyone was exactly the way they were a year ago, except Muneera.
Muneera changed a lot. For starters she took off her braces,
making her smile even more beautiful. She grew a few inches taller and lost
some weight. Basically, she looked stunning. Even when she was dressed in
simple casual wear, she was breath-taking.
Faisal was standing with his cousins, Hamad and Meshari and they
were discussing several universities in the States that Hamad can apply to when
Muneera came out of the dinning room and spotted them.
She was wearing dark skinny jeans with a grey oversized
jumper. Her hair was super straight and it ran down to her lower back. She was
also wearing a beanie that made her look adorable. She had little make up on,
just dramatic eyeliner and lip-gloss.
Around her neck she had a black and white Alexander McQueen
scarf. She looked flawless.
“Faisal!” Muneera smiled to Faisal as she made her way to
them
Meshari rolled his eyes, he knew Muneera liked Faisal and he
couldn’t stand Muneera’s ego.
“Halla walla Muneera shlounch?” Faisal gave Muneera his
million-dollar smile
“El7emdalla eb5air! Walahaana 3alaick wayed!” Muneera said
as she hugged Faisal.
Hamad and Meshari both exchanged weird looks. It was okay in
their family for cousins to hug, but the way Muneera threw herself at Faisal
was suspicious.
Faisal on the other hand was defiantly not expecting that
from Muneera. He awkwardly wrapped one arm around Muneera and hugged her back.
He chuckled awkwardly and replied, “Taghayartay!”
That’s all that Faisal could come up with. ‘uuff laish gelt chthy! Al7een erou7
tafkeerha eb3eed!’ Faisal thought to himself.
Muneera blushed and smiled, “Eeh ba3ad you were gone for a
whole year, and a lot of things changed..” She looked deep into Faisal’s eyes
and gave him the I-know-you-and-Dalal-broke-up-look.
Faisal chuckled nervously, “laa 3ad, not everything can
change in a year Manoor!” he said that and quickly looked away. Man was Muneera
making him nervous.
He was never like that around her. She was always plain
annoying Muneera. Was it because she looked different? Or was it because he
hasn’t seen her in a while? He was suddenly confused.
“Enzain F9ail eshgelt? Ayi jam3a taqbleni?” Hamad asked
“Walla 7amood lazem at2akadlik w ardlek khabar enshalla!”
Faisal replied
And as usual Muneera had to butt in, “Eeh Faisal enshalla
baqadem awaragi barra!” Muneera was graduating this summer.
Faisal looked at Muneera bluntly, “Bara wayen?”
As if it wasn’t obvious what she was going to reply,
“Jam3etk.” Muneera said with a smile
“Aha..” Faisal said coldly “Allah ewafgech.”
Muneera smiled again and this time she looked into Faisal’s
eyes again. She knew deep eye contact made Faisal nervous. “3ad gelt since it’s
going to be my first year, you show me around wetsa3deni w chthy? Baba 7ada
estanas ena ana badesh weyak!”
Meshari sensed that Faisal was getting very uncomfortable,
“baaih entay al7een khal te6la3lech elbe3tha awal! Ba3dain ta7achay!”
“Laa enshala ba7a9eli be3tha Meshari latgool chthy.” Muneera
frowned
“Eshda3wa magal shay,” Hamad said nudging Faisal to say
something.
“Mm okay,” was all that Faisal could say.
Luckily for all of them Om Khaled called them for lunch.
It was less awkward over lunch because Muneera was busy with
Haya and their other cousins and Faisal was also chatting with his cousins and
uncles. It was all going smoothly until Fajer, Muneera’s younger sister, opened
her mouth and talked.
“Faisaal 9jj ent w Manoor ebtadrsoon bara weya ba3ath??”
Fajer asked.
Faisal gritted his teeth, this was the last thing he needed.
His uncle, Bo Jassem, heard what his daughter said and
chuckled, “Eeh 7abebty laish la? Faisal khoush wa7ed w gad elmas2ooleya w ana
rathy ena Muneera etro7 tadrs weya.”
Faisal looked back and forth from his mother to his uncle
speechless. Muneera on the other hand was loving the conversation and she
smiled, “Eeh baba gelt 7ag Faisal ena esa3deni oo ohwa gali okay.”
Meshari and Hamad both said at the same time, “Manoor 3an
elchthb! Elwalad magalech shay!!”
“Eeh ohwa magal, ohwa bas sekat.. oo kelman e3arf ena
elskout men 3alamt elretha.. 9a7 baba?” Muneera looked at her dad, who nodded
like an idiot.
Bo Jassem spoiled his daughters, a lot. Especially Muneera.
What Muneera wants, oh Muneera will get.
Faisal had to save himself from this situation. “Laa walla
ana ga3ed afker bas akhlis my spring course ard lekwait w akmel derasti ehny..
agrab 7ag omy w ekhty ya3ne..”
Muneera raised her eyebrow and looked suspiciously at
Faisal. She knew he was lying, because Faisal would never leave the states and
come back and live in Kuwait.
“Allah ewafgek 7abeby,” Bo Jassem said and turned back at
his brothers and kept talking about random politics.
After lunch everyone was gathered around in the living room
and they were watching some show. Faisal excused himself and went back to the
dining room where no one was around. He wanted to call Dalal. He missed her
voice and he needed to talk to her. Muneera was making him feel very
uncomfortable.
He dialed Dalal’s number and before he pressed call, Muneera
was standing behind him.
“Faisal please 3ade aklmek?” Muneera said not so innocently.
Faisal turned around and looked at her blankly, “5air?”
“Faisal 9jj ely gelta? 9jj 5ala9 betred elkuwait?” Muneera
asked
“Muneera, radait wela maradait, entay shno ebyetghar
3alaich? Radety malha she’3l feech.” Faisal said trying not to sound so mean.
Muneera looked at him sternly, “Faisal, I’m sorry ent lazem
tesma3 hal 7ache menii, bas etha ent kent tabe etrd elkuwait 3ashan Dalal, tara
bas 7abait agolik ena Dalal bacher khe6bat’ha..” Muneera said hiding the smile
from her face.
Faisal was shocked. How did she find out? But then again, he
shouldn’t be so surprised, Muneera was a huge fan of gossip.
“oo matadreen mino ebyakh6ebha?” Faisal said sarcastically.
Muneera shook her head, “Laa kel ely 3arfta men refeejti ena
ely kan kha6ebha men awal fach elkhe6ba w ra7 kha6ab bent thanya. Mashalla
masra3 mafalaw ela yaha wa7ed w 7abha.”
Faisal nodded, “Well then Muneera, I’m sorry you have to
hear this from me, bas ana ely kha6ebha, oo bacher bet9eer elkhe6ba elrasmeya.”
And Faisal gave Muneera a sarcastic smile.
