Rawan quickly parked her car in the emergency lane and both
of them got out and ran across the highway. Cars had to stop for them to pass,
but all the drivers realized that they were related to the man in the car
accident.
“Faisal!!!!” Dalal screamed as she saw him covered in blood
laying down on the ambulance bed.
She ran up to him and looked at his face, he had scars
everywhere. A big piece was glass cut through his right cheek, his arm was
dislocated and his head was bleeding.
He was rushed into the ambulance car and on impulse, Dalal
got in as well.
“Rawan, le7gena.. Omy, Nasser, Obouy.. kalmeehum!” Dalal
said in hysteric crying.
Rawan nodded and ran back to her car, drove off to get to
the nearest hospital.
She called Nasser, and she tried to be as calm as possible.
“Aloo?” Rawan said her voice in heavy tears.
“Halla Rawan, haa yuba eshfech?”
Rawan gulped, “N—aassser..” and she broke down crying.
“Rawan! Latkhar3eny!!! Ta7achay! Dalal eshfeeha!!” Nasser
was panicking.
“Faisaal! Shefnaa, shefnaa tawa! Dalal, maskeena.. Nassser
ta3aal al7een!” Rawan cried
“Shemsawy hatha ba3ad?????? Walla law em2athy Dalal, wala
athba7a!!” Nasser screamed in anger.
“Laaaa,” Rawan took in a heavy breath. “Faisal sawa 7adeth!!
Dalal erkebat el es3af ma3ah, shefna we7na raden elbait.. Nassser madrii
shaswee” Rawan kept crying massively.
Nasser was shocked.
He was speechless.
“la 7awla wala quwata ela belllah..” Nasser managed to say.
“Yala kani yaykum.. Deray balech wentay etsougeen Rawan.” He said.
It was Nasser’s job to break it down to both his parents and
Faisal’s parents. Rawan was in no state to speak. He did what was the hardest
thing to do, he called Khaled, and told him what has happened.
He told his parents, his mother broke down crying as well.
They all rushed to the hospital to meet up with Rawan and Dalal.
Dalal held Faisal’s hand super tight, and she kept on crying
and looking at him.
“Faisal, faisal goum goum.. Faisal you cant go.. Faisal you
cant leave me! Faisal I’m finally gonna be yours! Tekfa, tekfaa Fa—aiisaall!”
Dalal buried her face in Faisal’s shoulders.
The paramedics kept on taking Faisal’s blood pressure and
heart rate, both of which were low. The bleeding in his head was making him
lose oxygen.
Blood was all over Dalal’s clothes. They arrived at the
hospital and Faisal was rushed into the OR for emergency surgery.
Dalal sat next to her parents, Nasser, Rawan and Farah in
the waiting room.
Haya was standing with Khaled, tears not leaving her face.
Dalal said nothing as they all waited for good news.
Any news, but all the news that came, weren’t what they
wanted to hear.
4 hours of surgery and Faisal was put in the intensive care
unit, he needed to be supervised because his situation was not stable.
Everyone went to see him, his parents and siblings. Rawan,
Farah and Dalal. Dalal’s family and then suddenly, Muneera showed up out of
nowhere.
She had mascara smeared all over her face clearly she was
devastated. When she saw Dalal, she gave her the world’s dirtiest look and
said, “Law mu entay, chan Faisal eb 5air.”
Dalal was shocked, and speechless. She had no idea how to
reply, Haya overheard her and quickly came to the rescue, “Muneera, disappear
al7een.”
“La mabe ban6er Faisal egoum,” She shrugged.
Haya pulled Muneera from her elbow and out to the corridor
so no one could hear them.
“Sem3ay Manoor, tara we’ve all had it with your shit. W tara
esh3ara w athb7ich beedy aqsm bellah! You have no reason to be here, so reday
baitkum!!!” Haya sneered.
“Eshda3wa magelt shay ana! Tara its true, law mu Dalal, chan
Faisal al7een belbait wela bel dowaneya. We all know it Haya, Dalal and Faisal
were never meant for each other.” Muneera said.
Haya breathed out, luckily Hamad and Meshary just came out
of the elevator and saw them both standing.
“Hamad please, get rid of her.” She looked at Muneera.
Hamad nodded and said, “Khalas lat7ateen.” Meshary and Hamad
both went to Muneera to get her out of the hospital.
The doctors asked everyone to leave the ICU because Faisal
needed to rest. They all agreed, except Dalal.
“Ana mani ray7a wala mukan.” She said firmly. Her face was
crimson red, her makeup was smeared and she had lines of tears all over her
cheeks.
“7abebty eldiktoor gaal..” Faisal’s mother said,
heartbrokenly.
Dalal shook her head, “Mara7 at7arak men mukani.”
Dalal’s father breathed out, he knew when Dalal sets her
mind on something, there’s nothing anyone could do to change it.
“Khalas Om Khaled, ma3alaih Dalal ebteg3ad.” He said gently.
“Ebrou7ha?” Nasser asked.
Haya quickly got up, “La ana bag3ad weyaha.”
Haya’s dad looked helplessly at both girls, “deraw balkum
3ala ba3ath, wetha Faisal gam, degoli 3ala 6oul.”
The girls nodded.
The said their goodbyes and all of them left, except Rawan
and Farah. They wanted to make sure Dalal was okay.
“Babe?” Rawan put her hand on Dalal’s shoulder.
Dalal nodded, “Enshalla begoum belsalamah.. ana bad3eela”
Rawan said soothingly.
Dalal kept quite. She didn’t want to say anything; she was
silently praying for Faisal. She was praying and hoping that some miracle would
save him.
Farah and Rawan kissed Dalal’s forehead and they left. Haya
followed them because she wanted to give Dalal some space. Since he came out of
surgery, she never got to be alone with him.
Haya looked at Rawan and Farah, “mashkoreen, matga9roon.”
“3ala shno 7abebty? Masawaina shay walla..” Rawan said
Haya breathed out, “Madri ya3ne wagfatkum ma3a Dalal, means
a lot to me too..”
“Hayoona, Dalool is a sister to us, w ham Faisal ghaly
3endna, akeed we’re going to be here for them.” Farah said
Haya teared up, “Thank you.” She whispred.
“Hayoona don’t cry! Tara Dalool needs you to be strong.
Allah ye3lam sht7s feeh elmaskeena..” Rawan frowned
“Enshalla khair,” Farah hugged Haya. “Please 6ameena, wetha
9ar ayi shay, call us 3ala 6oul neyekum.”
Haya half smiled and hugged them both. They left and Haya
went downstairs to the cafeteria to get some food for her and Dalal.
Dalal sat on the bed next to Faisal and held his hand. Tears
were streaming down her face like an endless waterfall. She brushed her finger
across Faisal’s cheek. He looked helpless, vulnerable, lost in a dark hole.
His blood pressure and heart rate were stable, but he was
still in a coma, and the doctors were all waiting for him to wake up to see
whether or not the concussion left any damages to his brain.
His left side ribs and shoulder were damaged. He had cuts
all over his shoulders and arms. Luckily, his legs were okay.
“Ya ba3ad galbe..” Dalal whispered.
She breathed out, she didn’t know if Faisal was listening to
her or not, but she wanted to talk to him.
She held his hand and leaned closer to his ear and began
speaking, “7abeby you’re strong, and you’re going to get through this. Faisal
a7bick, w adre makent agoolick eny a7bick, bas Faisal wala el3atheem eny magdar
a3eesh bedounk.. Faisal please, latkhaleeni.. please please,” she started
crying, “please don’t leave me.”
Faisal did nothing, he did not respond, he obliviously
couldn’t hear her.
Dalal breathed out to calm herself and began speaking,
“shoof you’re gonna wake up w bet9eer a7san, w ba3dain we’re gonna get married
and we’ll live the dream we always talked about.. Faisal tara this is not the
end, I’m gonna be here by your side every day, until you get better..” She
looked at his face, “ for better or for worse, 9a7 Faisal? that’s what we
agreed on men awal ma3arfna ba3ath.. w methl ma I’m gonna be here by your side,
I know you wont leave me, I know ent bet9eer a7san..”
She laid down beside him and put her head on his right
shoulder, “for me please, Faisal if you can hear me, squeeze my hand”
But Faisal didn’t move.
“I love you.. I love you Faisal.. get better please..” she
slowly drifted to sleep next to him.
A while later, Haya went back to the room and she saw Dalal
sleeping beside Faisal.
She got an extra blanket and covered Dalal and dimmed the
lights. She sat beside them and she prayed silently for Faisal.
At around midnight, Khaled came back to the hospital with a
bag. He went up to the room and found Haya sleeping on the armchair and Dalal
next to Faisal.
He woke Haya up and asked her to come outside.
Haya looked alarmed, “Khalood eshfeek radait?”
“Men9jich entay? Mani gader ag3ad belbait w ana o5ouy
eb’3ayboba! Elbait kela me3tifis! Omy bas tabchi w tad3ee.. kanat betrd ma3ay
bas obouy makhalaha.. Fa geltlaha ana ayey w at6aman 3alaih w mara wa7da
ayeblich aghrath.. 3ad madri shno Sarah 7a6atlech.”
Haya took the bag from Khaled, “Mashkoor 7abebi.”
Khaled kissed her forehead, “eshloun Dalal?”
Haya frowned, “menhara.. bas I have no clue how she’s
keeping it all together and staying strong.”
“Allah ekoun eb3onha walla..” he shook his head
“Khaled?”
“halla?”
“Khaled gole el9jj? Faisal, begoum?” Haya looked hopeless
“Walla madri shagoolech hayoona.. the doctors say, he could
stay like this for a while.”
“Laish??” haya teared up
“they say it’s a miracle he’s alive, egolon ena his brain
swelled up and bleeded wena its bad.. mafahamt wayed, bas the surgery saved
him.”
“Enzain w ba3dain? What if..?” haya croaked
Khaled shook his head, “Latfakreen chthy haya.. obouy awal
marad kalam obo Sarah w khalas cham youm besawe awraga w bewadeeh London.”
Haya smiled, “so there is a solution?”
“akeed!! Don’t give up on your brother haya!” Khaled tensed
up
“Laa walla Khaled I’m not, bas I’m speechless w mani em9adga
kel ely ga3ed e9eer!”
“We all are 7abebty,” Khaled hugged Haya.
“Haya??” Dalal walked out of the room alarmed.
“Halla 7abebty kani ehnyy,” Haya turned around and saw
Dalal’s frightened face.
“Dalal eshfech?” Khaled asked
“Madrii, madrii Faisal feeh shay, he’s not breathing
properly.. ta3alaw” Dalal cried.
When they all entered the room, nurses were trying to
stablize Faisal, because his heart rate and blood pressure were very high.
“Eshfeeehh!!??” Dalal cried
The doctor came into the room and looked at Khaled, “Please
I have to ask you to take your family and wait outside.”
Khaled nodded and he turned to tell Haya and Dalal, but
Dalal was already by Faisal’s side, “Faisaall gooouuum!!! Gouuuu-uum
latkhaleeniii” She cried terribly.
“Please ma’am you have to leave the room!” The Doctor
ordered.
“NOO! I’m not gonna leave!!,” She yelled at the doctor
“Faisaaal gooum!!!!” She shook Faisal’s shoulders.
Two nurses came to Dalal and grabbed her by her arms and
took her outside. Dalal was like a 3 year old girl who was dropped off at a
nursery. She was kicking and screaming and crying as if she wasn’t going to see
her mother again.
Faisal was taken to the operating room again because he fell
into a cardiac arrest.
Dalal blacked out because of all the crying and screaming,
she also hasn’t eaten anything all day, which even made her situation worse.
Haya called Rawan, she didn’t want to call Dalal’s mother
because then she’d be worried and won’t let Dalal stay at the hospital again.
Khaled quickly called his dad; Faisal’s condition was
getting worse by the hour.
“Rawan, please ta3aly elmustashfa.” Haya said
“Laish Laish esh9aar??” Rawan said with a worried tone.
“Entay ta3alay w ashra7lech kelshay, bs please la7ad yadri.”
Haya said
“Yalla kani 15 mins w akoun 3ndkum.” Rawan said and ended
the call.
Rawan put on her pullover, sweatpants and uggs and got in
her car and drove quickly to the hospital.
Dalal was put in a room and given an IV drip because she
needed nutrition and she was refusing to eat anything.
Rawan arrived a while later and went to Dalal’s room.
“Esh9aar? Wayen Faisal? Laish Khaled w oboich yayen??”
Rawan’s face had a huge question mark expression.
“Faisal faj2a ta3ab w da5elooh el3amaleyat,” Haya cried “w
Dalal 6a7at 3alaina lama 5athooh.”
Dalal was asleep on the bed, she looked pale and she had
black circles under her eyes.
Rawan frowned, “enzain mako khabar? El dekatra magalaw
shay?”
Haya shook her head, “Khaled gal obouy besafra barra etha
mata7asan.”
“Laa laa enshalla may7taay!!” Rawan said
But there was nothing anyone could do to save him. His time
came, and he had to go.
At exactly 3:37 am, the doctors came out of the operating
room and told Faisal’s dad the news.
Faisal was gone.
There was nothing they could do; his brain was completely
damaged.
What happened next was a blur to Dalal and everybody else.
Rawan was the one who told Dalal the news, Haya was
devastated and in a total mess.
Khaled drove them back home, everybody was crying, but Dalal
was emotionless.
She didn’t cry, she couldn’t speak she couldn’t do anything.
She just sat staring into space.
Khaled called Nasser and informed him with what happened, he
suggested that Dalal stay with Haya for the next few days because Dalal wasn’t
in a state to be left alone.
The next day, Faisal was buried and his funeral began.
Dalal sat next to Haya and Haya’s mother in the funeral.
There were no words to describe how Om Faisal’s state was.
She lost her son, she lost him forever and he wasn’t coming
back.
All she did was cry and call his name.
It was a sad scene for three days.
On the fourth day Dalal went back home, she stopped
attending her classes. She couldn’t leave the house.
She didn’t eat; she only slept by taking medication.
She was heartbroken, depressed and shocked.
Rawan was always by her side, her parents were also helping
her grieve, but Dalal was still in denial. She couldn’t accept the fact that
Faisal was gone.
Three weeks after Faisal’s death, Haya called Dalal.
“Aloo?” Dalal said
“Daloola 7abebty shlounch?” Haya asked
“I’m fine,” Dalal said, and that’s what she said everyday
since Faisal passed, but she wasn’t really fine.
“Daloola 7abebty, there’s something I want to give you,
entay belbait?” Haya asked
“eeh, shno ohwa?” Dalal asked
“ta3alay bara, I’m outside.” Haya said
Dalal ended the call and went out to Haya. Her apperance was
as radiant or as happy and cheerful as it used to be. She’s grey. Emotionless,
not a single sight of happiness.
She got into the car with Haya, and gave her a half smile.
Haya was hurting also, grieving the death of her brother.
But she seemed strong, but nothing is as what it ever seems.
“Gabel Faisal’s accident ebyoum, ana w Faisal 6al3ana ma3a
ba3ath.. he got you something w kan yabe ya36ech yah,” then Haya remembered
that awful day and teared up.
Dalal breathed out, whenever anyone brought up Faisal, or
the accident her heart would just feel like its being cut by knives. She can no
longer deny the fact that he was gone.
She simply nodded to show Haya that she understood.
Haya gave Dalal the red Cartier bag.
“Ohwa nagalich yah.. and he hoped that you’d like it.” Haya
half smiled
Dalal took the bag with tearful eyes, “do you mind if I open
it inside broo7i?”
Haya shook her head, “not at all 7abebty, ekhthay ra7tech.”
Dalal leaned in and kissed Haya’s cheeks, “thank you hayouna.”
“You’re welcome, 3ad please 5anshoofech? Murray 3alayna any
day.”
Dalal nodded, no way was she ever going to leave the house.
The mere thought of leaving the house and interacting with people made her sick
to her stomache.
Dalal left the car and went up to her room.
She sat on the bed, and stared at the bag. She was thinking
of never opening it and never finding out what Faisal got.
But she missed him, she missed him so much it was killing
her alive.
She wanted anything that reminded her of him. She never took
of his grey t-shirt. She took his university sweatshirt and she wears it all
the time.
She just wasn’t ready to ever let him go, to let the
memories go, to erase him from her mind and heart.
It was impossible for her to stop thinking of him, stop
dreaming of him, and stop imagining that he’ll come back.
2 months have passed, it was mid March, and Dalal was over
with the denial phase and has come to terms with it. She was still holding on
to him, holding on to everything. That day she was finally ready to open the
bag.
She took the bag out of her closet, opened the wrapping
paper and opened the box.
Her heart started racing when she saw what was in it.
Faisal got her the Love ring, as a symbol of his love, and
also for her to wear to show everyone that she’s taken, that she belongs to
him.
Tears began falling from Dalal’s eyes as she held the ring
in her hands.
She wanted to hug him, tell him how much she loved him.
But he wasn’t there.
In the bag, she found an envelope.
She opened it and got a card, it had Faisal’s scent on it
and handwriting.
“Ya aghla ensanah eb7ayati,
I hope you accept this gift as a symbol of my love to you.
Daloola, my life can now begin, knowing that you’re finally a part of
it.
3asa allah lay7remni mench, w ekhalech ley ya aghla men sekan galbe.
I vow to forever love you, and fall deeper in love with you everyday.
- Faisal.”
She read the card over and over again and each time she
cried even more. Her soul was missing him.
“7abeby, I love you..” she whispered to herself.
She wore the ring on her finger, and vowed to never love a
man more than she ever did to Faisal.
She vowed to keep him as the one and only, true love of her
life.
Days passed on, and she eventually became better, and her
life was getting back to its normal routine again.
Faisal forever lives in her heart, even when he’s gone.
True love, never dies.
The end…
I really really really hope you liked my story, and yes some
of you might hate me because of this sad ending.
Its just to show, that not everything is a fairytale, and
even when it looks like its perfect, its not because there is no such thing as
perfect.
Never give up on anything or anyone you love, because its
regrets can hurt more than anything. Always have high hopes and be positive,
but never forget to be realistic.
I love you all!! Enshalla I will keep on writing more posts!
I don’t know when, but I will start my new story. Probably mid September, but I
will still write short posts.
I hope that you’ll continue reading my blog, and if you have
any suggestions please let me know!!
